Privacy Policy

Overview

help1 ("the App") is a Shopify app that scans your store for common issues and provides a health score with actionable fix instructions. This privacy policy explains what data we access, what we store, and how we handle your information.

What Data We Access

The App accesses the following data from your Shopify store:

Read access:

• Product data (titles, descriptions, images, variants, SEO fields)
• Theme data (version, assets, template files)
• Page and blog content
• Store configuration (shipping zones, domains, locales, currencies)
• Navigation menus

Write access (used only for one-click fixes):

• Product data - to update SEO titles, SEO descriptions, and image alt text
• Page content - to create starter pages (About, Contact, Privacy Policy, Terms, Refund Policy, FAQ)
• Theme settings - to set favicon and social sharing image, convert deprecated tags, remove unused themes

Write permissions are only used when you explicitly choose to apply a quick fix. The App always shows you exactly what will change and requires your confirmation before making any modification.

What Data We Store

• Shop domain (e.g., your-store.myshopify.com) for identifying your store
• Scan results including health scores, issue details, and timestamps
• Store owner email if you opt into the weekly email digest
• App preferences such as email digest opt-in status and onboarding completion

What We Do NOT Store

• Customer personal information (names, emails, addresses, phone numbers)
• Order data or purchase history
• Payment information or billing details
• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Product inventory levels or pricing data

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

• Run diagnostic scans and calculate your store health score
• Display scan results and fix instructions within the App
• Apply one-click fixes when you explicitly confirm a fix action
• Send weekly email digests if you have opted in
• Compare scan results over time to show score changes

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising purposes.

Data Deletion

• When you uninstall the App: Your scan history is preserved for 48 hours in case you reinstall. Your session data is deleted immediately.
• After 48 hours: Shopify sends a data deletion request and all stored data (shop record, scan history, issues, preferences) is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
• On request: You can request immediate data deletion by contacting support. We will process your request within 30 days.

GDPR Compliance

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Customer data requests: We respond to all customer data access requests. Since we store no customer personal information, these requests confirm that no customer data is held.
• Customer data deletion: We respond to all customer data deletion requests. Since we store no customer personal information, no customer data needs to be removed.
• Shop data deletion: When requested by Shopify, we permanently delete all data associated with your shop within 48 hours.

We implement all three mandatory Shopify compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact).

Data Security

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
• Data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database
• Access to data is restricted to authenticated app sessions only
